Unverified reports indicate the world may have ended last week –
I am Cankat Oguz, a multidisciplinary Senior Art Director and Creative, armed with an academic background in graphic design. I work on diverse creative & design landscapes, telling stories with or without a scrollbar, bringing brands to life, and crafting creative digital experiences across industries…
– In a world that may
or may not have ended…
where everyone is crafting creative digital experiences
and asking AI to write their biographies…
– NOT EXACTLY A REEL, 2024
– I’M ACTUALLY SMILING
I design important things you need to see,
more or less.
* I design brands, websites, logos, identities, videos, music videos, animations, interfaces, posters, games, mobile apps, user experiences, product packages, never-worn t-shirts, wireframes, interactions, books, restaurant menus, wedding invitations… I conceptualize experiences, write stories, rap rhymes, and pen love letters. I come up with ideas, plan digital creative strategies, and prepare winning pitch presentations. And sometimes, I build things. I can develop interactive stuff and handle some front-end when people aren’t around.
Please don’t mind the dust…
Some parts may still be under development.

Once, I burned my art diploma in an art gallery in front of the art professors.
…and they called it performance art.
“Striving for originality in art is like chasing a mirage in the desert; the closer you think you are, the more it slips away into the sands of mediocrity.”
…but originality is overrated. Embrace the comfort of conformity in your design
cankatoguz.com represents my second take to the concept of personal websites after the first (and now ancient) version of coguz.com. All designed and developed by me; it’s a personal stance aganist the websites without a soul; earned me my first individual FWA award; with tears and memories in every pixel.

“I was in the biggest general store in Siolim, reading the no-stock signs while missing my chances of being a YouTuber and realizing that I was literally stuck in a lockdown alone, 6000 km away from home, with a broken heart, no food and my office in my backpack.”

///////////////////// MORE STUFF
It was a late night; KUVOKA, a famous DJ and friend, dropped a beat so intense it practically drew the logo itself; something that captured his essence. An identity for both on and off the stage -now it’s more than a logo; a symbol of electric energy of his music.
Since our childhood, I’ve been creating things for my friend Volkan Uca, a DJ and music producer. From his website, and logo to his music videos it’s been a wild ride and still is. Late nights in our parent’s houses, surrounded by old vinyl records and tangled cables; now nothing’s changed—except now, we have better equipment and a bigger audience. A testament to years of friendship and creative collaboration…
2020; It seems I’ve been serving the nightlife scene with my creative flair. Because we raved when the world ended…
Working on UNKNOWN 9 was a thrilling experience. I designed everything from signboards to an interactive experience for SXSW, which, sadly, was canceled due to COVID-19. A story to be read with tears, leads to heartbreaks, lockdowns, rescue flights, and quarantine times…
Designing for “Azizler” a Turkish movie filled with super-star actors and directed by super-star brothers; a dream came true – the least watched movie on Netflix in 2023. Sometimes, reality is stranger than fiction, but it’s all part of the adventure.
The most amazing—and probably the only—fried chicken DJ mixer you’ve ever seen.
Have you ever told a joke and no one laughed? Even tried to explain the joke and ended up more depressed? Discover “The Wheel of Misfortune” -where we tried to joke on the world’s end.
Art is stupid. Dark art is stupider. A collection of my artworks where I painted stuff on a photoshop canvas before the AI.
Falling coconuts are no reason to cut trees… For some years, I’ve been creating pieces of animation—short, entertaining snippets, completely devoid of meaning and utterly pointless. Enjoy the randomness!
As a part of my personal animated pieces; some additional scenes from the streets of my subconscious. A series in the making, a journey through my animated daydreams.
